Hello!  Perhaps you’re here “by chance”, or because I gave you one of my “Encouragement Cards”?  They look like this:

If so, great!  To date I’ve given out literally hundreds of these cards.  Why?  Well, I think bad news is pretty much everywhere these days, and people need to be reminded that there is still good news, really good news.  What is it?

1.  You were made in God’s image

In the first book of the Bible, Genesis, it’s say’s God made man and woman in His own image.  So just think, you didn’t just accidently happen as some “scholars” would want you to believe, and you certainly didn’t evolve from a monkey (I mean c’mon, really?).  But you’re body was made from the dust of the earth, and then God breathed the “breath of life” into you.  In Psalm 139:13-14 it says, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. 14I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

2.  You were made for a purpose

That’s right, God has you here for a purpose.  What purpose could God possibly want with me you say?  Well, I can’t tell you individually what he want’s to do with you, but I do know this, He want’s to do three things for all of us.  First, redeem you (buy you back) from the death penalty that we have all been born with (“For all have sinned and come short of God’s glory.”  Romans 3:23).  Secondly, God wants to then make you more and more into the perfect image of His son, Jesus Christ.  How?  Through His Word (the Bible) and His Holy Spirit (see 2 Corinthians 3:18).  And third, He wants to use you to reach others with the Good News of Jesus Christ, just like I’m trying to do here! 🙂

There’s a big party coming!  Are you going to be there?

That’s right, John tells us of the great Wedding celebration in Heaven, it is going to be, well, “out of this world”!  As the angel told John to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb” (Revelation 19:9). The marriage supper of the Lamb is a glorious celebration of all who are in Christ!  I’d love for you to be there, and you can.  🙂

Don’t let “the thief” ruin your life!

On the back of my encouragement cards I have a verse from the Gospel of John from Jesus that says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.  I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”  Think of that, Jesus, God’s only Son, left Heaven and came here to earth, to redeem you from  “the thief”, the devil, Satan.  And to save you from the Hell God created to finally (in the future) banish him and his unholy angels to.  How does Satan accomplish this?  Many, many ways.  He’ll keep you loving the world (stuff), loving your self, procrastinating, encouraging you to put off God until tomorrow, which may (except by God’s grace, see Ephesians 2:8-9) never come.  However he (Satan and his fallen angels, demons) does it, he’s really really good at it!  If you’re interested in his methods, read the book “Screwtape Letters” by C.S. Lewis it’s a great example in short story form.

Live Abundantly!

That’s right, and this is my final point, live abundantly.  Jesus said it, here’s is the verse in context of John chapter 10: “I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.

There is so much more I could say, but I’ll stop here.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to email or call me from the information here on the website.  And I hope to one day see you too at the great wedding celebration in Heaven, don’t miss it for the world!
